Holiday Time

As the days grow shorter and the festive season draws nearer, I wanted to share some exciting updates with all of you. October has come and gone in a flash, and now, with the holidays just around the corner, it feels like the perfect time to connect and celebrate.

I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve added appearance dates to my vendor calendar. These events are wonderful opportunities for you to come and chat with me about my debut book, “Do You Think Molly is Unique?”. Not only will you get a chance to discuss the book, but you can also get your own signed copy! This book holds a special place in my heart, and I can’t wait to share more about it with you in person.

So, mark your calendars and join me at one of these upcoming events. Let’s make this holiday season even more special by celebrating together and diving into the world of “Do You Think Molly is Unique?”.

School season is here!

It is that time of year again! School supply stands at your local store, new shoes, new clothes to look your best and impress your friends and bookbags slung on shoulders as young minds head out for another year of school.

Before they head out to begin the next chapter of their school career, we try to say the phrase that will send them off the best way possible. My wife and I would always try to say the most uplifting and encouraging words on our children’s first day of school (My wife was much better at it than myself). We believed it was an important part of the first day of school ritual. It gave them confidence even if, they older they got, the less they would show it.

Sometimes this is hard for some. I know I struggled overthinking what to say at times. Even to the point that I would just hug them and say, “Have a great day.” This is a perfectly acceptable phrase to say to your child leaving for school. The issue I had with this was an internal one. I wanted to tell them how proud I was of who they were. I wanted to tell them they were amazing individuals and I believed they would be great at anything they did. This can come across as a little over-the-top or even a little over dramatic. So, the goal is to convey all of this in a sentimental phrase that conveyed encouragement and pride in who they are. As I said, this has always been an issue for me because I would overthink what to say. So much so that when it came time to say anything I would mentally freeze up and “Have a great day” became the default.

I guess what I am getting at is that if you can relate to this dilemma, I got an article for you to keep in your back pocket. The article is titled “11 Encouraging phrases to tell your kids on their first day of school” by Dr. Sanam Hafeez that may provide that inspiration you are looking for without having to overthink it.

Good luck and remember, if all that comes out is “Have a great day” then that is enough. They know what you meant and appreciate what you said regardless of it being the most profound piece of encouragement ever.

2024 Grabill Country Fair Cancelled

The 2023 Grabill Country Fair has been cancelled due to road work. This was a large multi-day event I was to take part in. While this is unfortunate for me and the other vendors, it is even more so for those who live in the area and depend on the road for their everyday means. Hopefully, the work can get back on track quickly for the residence of Grabill.

I have linked the article from our local news outlet for more information.

DIY Character Displays

Molly and Sophie Displays

See how I created these character displays to go in front of my vendor booth.

These character displays were easy to make and have stood up to wind, rain and sun. I used insulation board, 18-gauge aluminum rods, acrylic paint and a UV resistant spray sealer. The overall project took 3 days but could be done in 2. Enjoy!

Vendor Season

Vendor Display

Hello everyone!
What I have is my first iteration of the vendor booth I am taking out to the various events this summer. I like it as a start but will continue to play with the layout as I learn what is working and what is not. Also, over the next couple of weeks I am going to post how-to videos on things I made for the booth.
Until next time!
Have a great day!
